Pain is your body’s way of telling you something is wrong. Respect what your body is telling you and modify your activity or stop if you are hurting.

Make time for stretching in your exercise routine. A dynamic stretch before, like trunk twists or gently bouncing on your toes before activities and static stretches holding the muscles on stretch for 20 seconds, is a good plan. The stretching prepares your body for activity and helps you maintain proper range of motion.

Change your running shoes every 300 miles.

Run Like A Mother

Ridgefield Physical Therapy is pleased to be a "Mother of 'em all" sponsor at this year's 3rd annual, Run Like a Mother race on May 9th. The Run Like a Mother® 5K race is a women's only 5K that takes place in downtown Ridgefield each spring on Mother's Day. The race celebrates women and mothers and encourages women of all ages to get out and be active.  The race culminates in Ballard Park with family and health oriented festivities.  Among these are sign decorating, face painting, custom photography for Mother's Day cards, fresh foods and beverages and a zumba class.  Award and raffle winner announcements commence once runners have crossed the finish line.
